PG-ROI EXAMPLE 2
Analysis of a Modernization
Base Case Assumptions

The input of operation hours of the second option "Without Modernization“ looks similar, with the most important difference that there is only one month downtime which might be interpreted as a planned outage for general revision.

The "old plant“ operates until May 2003 (line "2003-05“) with 583 hrs/month, equivalent to 7000 hrs/yr, and then stops.
After a gap of one month downtime, the plant restarts its operation as "new plant“ with the same performance as before., i. e. still 500MW and 583 hrs/month.

In this option, nothing has changed, the so called option Without Modernization or “Doing nothing”. It might look a little complicated to compare the option “With Modernization” and “Without Modernization” , but it is the best way to ensure that all relevant data for production, loss of production, costs, taxes etc are considered automatically, as to be seen in the following pictures.
